This National Youth Month, Kabataang-Makabayan –KM Bikol salutes the Filipino youth who dares to struggle and who stands for the interest of the people. All throughout the history of the Filipino people’s struggle, the youth has contributed significantly to the advancement of change and the realization of the revolution’s victory.

From the times of the Spanish colonialism, Japanese occupation and the reign of imperialist US, the youth has bared their bravery in defending against the ruling classes. During the reestablishment of the Communist Party of the Philippines, the youth cadres led the rectification of the old Party’s weaknesses and the rejection of bourgeois ideologies to pave the way for the Filipino revolution’s advance. In combining their stregth with all the other oppressed classes, the revolution has gained force.

It is in the youth’s character to be daring and courageous. Keenness and vigor are in their person. They are the forebearers of new ideas, against-the-current and critical analyses. Now, the challenge to the new generation is to learn from history and to continue with all courage what the earlier generations have cultivated. Only by furthering and ensuring victory for the national democratic revolution will the chains of poverty and ignorance maintained by US imperialism, bureaucrat capitalism and feudalism be crushed. The bone-shattering crises and destitution brought about by the ruling classes’ oppression must not be allowed to be passed on to the next generations.

Youth of the country, take arms and join the New People’s Army. Recognize the crucial role in the society and join the people’s armed revolution.
