The revolutionary movement will never bow to GMA

Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal
Spokesperson
Communist Party of the Philippines
August 17, 2002

Macapagal-Arroyo is suffering from the gigantic illusion that the revolution in the Philippines could be paralyzed by orders from the governments of the US, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom to freeze the revolutionary movement's funds allegedly sourced from other countries.

The Party, New People's Army and the entire revolutionary movement have all sustained themselves and expanded mainly through self-reliant means and not through any foreign assistance.

The weapons in the NPA's growing arsenal are obtained from tactical offensives launched against the AFP and PNP. Many of the NPA's weapons were voluntarily surrendered by soldiers, policemen and CAFGU elements.

Above all, the revolutionary movement will continue in its advance because it continues to fight for the welfare and enjoys the support of the exploited and oppressed masses.

On the other hand, Macapagal-Arroyo's schemes to pressure the revolutionary movement further highlight the fact that all she is interested in is the decimation of the people's revolutionary resistance. She is not the least interested in addressing and resolving widespread exploitation and oppression, which lie at the roots of the civil war raging in the country.

The Macapagal-Arroyo regime is mistaken in believing that it could compel the revolutionary movement to just set aside the principles it has been fighting for and capitulate because of such pressure. The Communist Party of the Philippines and the entire revolutionary movement will never bow to Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
