The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) extends its warmest greetings of proletarian solidarity to the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) for successfully holding its 8th Congress last April 16-19.

The CPP congratulates Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel for being elected First Secretary of the CPC. We look forward to how Comrade Díaz-Canel and the new generation of Cuban revolutionary leaders will carry forward the CPC’s 8th Congress resolutions and continue the Party’s militant and mass-oriented style of leadership as exemplified by Fidel and Raul Castro in the past.

The CPP reiterates its unity with the CPC, the revolutionary Cuban government and the Cuban people in their continuing struggle to uphold national freedom, work for economic progress and address the needs of the Cuban people under its socialist program in the face of the relentless attacks and aggravation by the US imperialists.

Cuba’s exemplary response to the Covid-19 pandemic from its mass-based mobilization of government and public health resources, deployment of health workers across the world and its independent development of a vaccine demonstrates what it has achieved in building a democratic and progressive society.

The achievements of the Cuban revolution in defending national freedom and building a democratic and progressive society serve as an inspiration for the working class and oppressed peoples the world over in their struggle against imperialism and quest to end the exploitative capitalist system.

The international working class and oppressed people across the world are grateful to the solidarity and support of the Cuban people to their own struggles for national and social liberation.

We trust that the CPC and its new leadership will continue to strengthen itself ideologically, politically and organizationally under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism and lead the Cuban proletariat and people to more victories in the future.
