Hold Lacson, Estrada and other perpetrators answerable for the bombings in Metro Manila and punish them

The Communist Party of the Philippines condemns in the strongest possible terms the US-Estrada regime for conducting terrorist bombings and causing the death of more than 15 innocent civilians.
The US-Estrada regime shall pay dearly for its terrorism. This gives the New People�s Army all the more reason to launch punitive actions against the worst elements of the ruling faction, especially against the fascists and terrorists who, led by Gen. Panfilo Lacson, directly plotted the bombings on December 30.
It is only the US-Estrada regime that stands to benefit from these bombings. Estrada and his principal fascist AFP and PNP officers carried them out to target personalities in the broad anti-Estrada united front, divert the people�s attention from the Estrada impeachment trial and create a scene from where they could once again steal the limelight. In his desperate attempt to forestall the unstoppable strengthening of the protest movement, especially its anticipated upsurge as the year 2001 begins, Estrada wants to foment disorder and sow terror among the people.
However, this will not prevent the Filipino people from launching protests due to the depth of their loathing and tremendous hatred for the thoroughly rotten Estrada government. Any act of terrorism or fascism from Estrada against the people will surely fan the flames of protest. Attacks against unarmed civilians will also stir the people to launch even bigger and more intense mass actions.
While the Party and the NPA believe that the ouster of the Estrada regime will be brought about primarily by blows coming from peaceful, militant and gargantuan mass actions in the city, the revolutionary forces, especially the NPA fighters in the countryside, are prepared to further intensify people�s war nationwide and launch armed tactical offensives that will contribute to the overthrow of the tottering regime.
