On the Occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the reestablishment of the Communist Party of the Philippines
To the Central Committee and all the members of the CPP 5 December 2003
Dear Comrades,
Warmest revolutionary greetings from the Workers' Party of New Zealand on your 35th anniversary. In those years your achievements have been an inspiration to millions around the world, and continue to inspire. In building a mass movement, developing the people's war, establishing 128 guerrilla fronts and mobilising millions in the Philippines, the contribution of the CPP has been outstanding.
We in the WPNZ have been privileged to have developed a relationship with your organisation and are very grateful for your support and encouragement. We hope in the coming year to be able to offer more practical solidarity work on the ground here in New Zealand for your fine struggle and in opposition to the phony war on terror and the US imperialist intervention in your country.
There is much to admire in the tradition of the CPP. When the imperialists were crowing communism was dead, your organisation exposed how wrong they were. As powerful as the imperialists are they have not been able to stop the tide of resistance and revolution rising again - the strength of the Philippines communist movement attests to this.
As well as building a strong movement at home, your organisation is also playing a leading role in developing a world anti-imperialist movement.
Please convey our congratulations on the great success of the CPP. We wish you another very successful year.
Fraternal greetings,
Daphna Whitmore Secretary, Workers' Party of New Zealand
