"The Malacanang plan to shell out food coupons does not address the root causes of poverty and will not alleviate in any way the widespread hunger among the toiling Filipino masses.

Distributing rations of sardines and instant noodles to a number of people is grossly obscene especially when done by a government whose hands reek of corruption.

In fact, it is the corruption and the anti-people and pro-imperialist economic policies of the Arroyo government that has forced millions of Filipinos to critical levels of poverty and hunger.

Under such a system, the shelling out of food coupons will only be another source of graft and corruption. It would come as no surprise if these food coupons are used in their rotten politicking or if the food equivalents end up being fed to their pigs."
