CPP to take advantage of GMA and US vulnerabilities, vow to defeat all-out war and impending US war of aggression

The Communist Party of the Philippines today vowed to take advantage of the �many manifest economic and political vulnerabilities� of the US and Macapagal-Arroyo governments and defeat the government�s all-out war and the impending US war of aggression.

According to Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal, CPP spokesman, these �vulnerabilities demonstrate why and how the US and the Macapagal-Arroyo regime are bound to fail in their objective of finishing off the armed revolutionary movement in the Philippines". He called on the Filipino people �to unite, raise their spirit of militant patriotism� and struggle in �all arenas of resistance, both armed and unarmed�.

Rosal's declaration followed in the wake of the regime's all-out war policy and the inclusion of the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People's Army on the US list of so-called �foreign terrorist organizations� which it regarded as �preparations for justifying its violation of Philippine sovereignty and launching a war of aggression in the territories of the People�s Democratic Government�.

The CPP spokesman identified the regime's "worsening political isolation and weakness and the intense conflicts among reactionaries" and the ever worsening socio-economic crisis as among the �vulnerabilities�.

He also pointed out that the operations of US economic interests in the Philippines are vulnerable to �protest strikes� of patriotic workers and �calculated pressure� by the NPA. �US multinational companies will realize just how much a US war of aggression in the Philippines will disadvantage them,� Rosal added.

Rosal further declared that the people's protracted war being waged in the Phillipines cannot be defeated by the US' war of quick decisions and that the US cannot sustain in the long term its plan to deploy a hundred thousand US troops nationwide.

In carrying out a �war of aggression in the territories of the People�s Democratic Government�, the �US is bound to suffer growing casualties among American troops, who are all vulnerable targets of the tactical offensives of the people�s army,� Rosal warned. He said that this will �(shatter) the illusion of invincibility of the US� high-tech war� and cause �diminished support for the war from Americans�.

"The revolutionary armed movement is ready and has the capability to advance and raise further the level of protracted war ... that enjoys the expanding and deepening support of the Filipino people", he said.
