NPA Rescue A Slap in the Face of the AFP/PNP

Operatives of the Ka Paking Guimbaolibot Red Partisan Brigade of the New People's Army rescued Ka Jovan (Jordan Donillo) at 8:30 am September 30 in a daring ten-minute operation along the national highway (Km 74) Mawab, Comval. Ka Jovan--an NPA combatant captured in April-- and four other detainees were being escorted by four PNP/BJMP security personnel on board their service vehicle bound for Nabunturan at the time of the rescue.

Red partisans flagged down but were compelled to fire upon the BJMP vehicle as it sped past them. The PNP/BJMP personnel suffered injuries. Confiscated from them were three 9 mm pistols, one .45 caliber pistol, one shotgun and one VHF radio.

It is the policy and practice of the NPA to seize every opportunity to liberate comrades from the clutches of AFP torturers and murderers and from a judicial system controlled by the reactionary forces. This is in contrast with the AFP which gives preferential regard AFP/PNP officials held as NPA Prisoners of War but neglects rank-and-file personnel.

To save face, PNP Col. Jaime Morente resorts to weaving a fantastic tale-- that Ka Jovan was forcibly taken to stand trial before a revolutionary court supposedly for giving valuable information to the enemy. Morente and his ilk has time and again resorted to baseless and absurd propaganda. By spinning spurious pronouncements, the AFP/PNP hopes in vain to lessen the impact of the tactical offensives of the NPA.
