GEN. BRAGANZA AND SUPT. SERAPIO:
Liars and Idiots

Front Operational Command
New People's Army
Eastern Bulacan
March 31, 2003

We refute the statements of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) regarding the battle that took place last March 29, 2003 in the town of Angat, Bulacan. What Gen. Braganza and Supt. Serapio said are all lies and a clear indication of their own stupidity.

A platoon composed of 25 people were engaged in battle on that day. They were in the barangay (village) of Pulong Yantok to launch a study meeting to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the NPA.

Around 5:30 AM on that day, the NPA spotted the arrival of a combined force of PNP and 56th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army. The Red fighters were in an advantageous position and they were the first to fire shots at the incoming enemy forces. Even then, many among the police and military were already hit. Meanwhile, one was wounded and another killed, Comrade Carmi or Norbel Ortega of Norzagaray, Bulacan,on the side of the NPA.

In their maneuvering, the said platoon of the NPA reached barangay (village) Siling Matanda, Pandi when they decided to wait for and punish the enemy soldiers in pursuit. They positioned themselves on a high hill and allowed the police and military to come within ten meters. A whole group of enemy pursuers were immediately slain, while the others immediately scampered in retreat. The NPA confiscated 6 M-16 rifles and one cal. .45 pistol from the enemy.

But the NPA were surprised by the unexpected stupidity of the PNP and AFP officials. They mercilessly ordered the repeated assault of the position of the Red fighters even when they knew it was difficult to approach. Even the two Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) could not manage to come close to the position of the NPA. Throughout the afternoon exchange of gunfire, it was evident that no less than 20 fallen police and military soldiers were sprawled between the positions of the two sides. On the part of the NPA, one more fighter, Comrade Gerald or Arnel San Juan offered his life. When nightfall descended, the Red fighters quietly slipped away. The masses happily greeted them at a safe location and offered them cold water, bread and candies. The whole people acclaimed the victory of the NPA and the heroism of the two martyrs of the people!

The lies of Gen. Braganza and Supt. Serapio are part of the psy-war tactics of the AFP and PNP in order to cover up their successive losses in battle and to discredit the revolutionary movement. Part of this is the "salvaging" (summary execution) of Michael Santiago, a barangay tanod (village leader) of San Roque, San Rafael, Bulacan and without any connection to the revolutionary movement. After killing Michael, he was dressed up in an old uniform of the NPA and they made it appear that he was slain in the encounter which took place at Pasong Intsik, San Rafael.

No amount of lies on the part of the fascist military can repudiate the rapid advance of the revolution until victory. ###
