NPA prepares to fight US troops

The Communist Party of the Philippines called on the New People�s Army (NPA) to prepare to wage a �war of national liberation� in the event a full-blown US aggession in the Philippines cannot be prevented.

In a statement dated March 29, issued on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the New People�s, CPP Central Committee chair Armando Liwanag said that �the NPA must deliver lethal blows against the US imperialists and the puppet military and police forces, whatever extent that the US intervenes or aggresses against the people.�

Liwanag said that the people and the revolutionary forces �must do everything to uphold the national sovereignty� and prevent US military intervention and aggression�, but if this cannot be prevented, �to fight well (against direct US military intervention) and realize by a war of national liberation� the long-delayed justice for US war crimes and brutalities in the Philippines during the Filipino-American war at the turn of the 20th century.

The CPP chair said that the NPA �is well-prepared against the military campaigns of suppression carried out by the local reactionaries as well as against direct US military intervention.�
