Another of Gloria's super-hypocritical media ops

Communist Party of the Philippines spokesperson Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal lambasted President Arroyo for her "super-hypocritical gimmickry" in presenting herself and members of the AFP high command as ninong and ninang to Sheena Rose, daughter of Rosalinda Cocoy whom Rosal said was made into a "sex slave" and "eats from the hands" of several officers of the Philippine Army's 202nd Brigade.

Rosal also refuted AFP claims that Cocoy was the "secretary or political officer" of the CPP and NPA in Rizal province and was a surrenderee. "Cocoy was active in the NPA for a brief two months in 1999 and only enlisted because she was attracted to one of the NPA commanders in Rizal. She was later granted leave for medical treatment but she never regrouped. She later married and had been living as a civilian with her first born for some three years in her barrio in Antipolo, Rizal when arrested in a mass roundup of residents on August 22 after a firefight between the military and the NPA. She was forced to arbitrarily point to her own barriomates as members of the NPA and its support base and was passed on from one military official to another as a sex slave."

"Serving as godmother to Cocoy's newborn daughter is super-hypocrisy. But this palabas is not enough to cover up for the utter debasement of Cocoy's humanity during her detention," Rosal said.

Rosal also said that "Playing godparents to Cocoy's child is Macapagal-Arroyo's and the AFP high command's own business. It is good for her child to receive a scholarship and other benefits out of this. But the cheap yarn and the exploitation of Cocoy and her child for Malaca�ang's super-hypocritical media ops must be exposed."
