RPM-RPA-ABB declaration of war against NPA not new -- CPP

The Communist Party of the Philippines said today that there was "nothing new" about the reported declaration of war against the New People's Army by Nilo dela Cruz of the criminal RPM-RPA-ABB gang.

CPP spokesman Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal said that the RPA-ABB was organized primarily to fight the NPA. "That's why it was so easy for it to forge an agreement with the government and carry out joint military operations with the fascist AFP against the NPA," Rosal added.

The RPA-ABB gang, said Rosal, is a willing instrument in the government's counterrevolutionary war against the NPA. It no longer acts independently of the AFP. "Any act it carries out against the revolutionary forces is part of the AFP's counterrevolutionary war," Rosal explained.

Rosal, however, warned dela Cruz against targeting civilians and noncombatant revolutionary forces. "Any act against civilians and non-armed revolutionary forces will be dealt with accordingly," Rosal added.
