| NPA Offensives Kill 6 in IsabelaSeptember 24, 2005
Six troopers of the mercenary Armed Forces of the Philippines were killed and several others were wounded in two recent armed offensives launched by the Benito Tesorio Command of the New People's Army (NPA) in Southern Isabela province.
According to Delio Baladon, spokesperson of the local NPA command, it was late morning of 24 September when Red fighters engaged in armed combat a platoon of the AFP caught napping in Barangay (village) San Carlos, Echague, Isabela, north of the Philippines. Five mercenary troops were killed and several others were wounded in the firefight.
The NPA was able to seize one M60 machine gun and one M14 rifle from the fallen enemies.
Before this, the NPA killed a Corporal Norly Osio in an ambush on 22 September. Osio was part of two platoons of the 54th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army (IBPA) conducting terrorist operations in Barangay Madadamian, in Echague, Isabela.
The Red fighters sustained no casualty or injury, even as they were able to seize an M16 rifle from the firefight.
The two succesful military offensives of the Benito Tesorio Command served as its latest counter-offensive against the continuous fascist operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) which victimizes the civilian population of southern Isabela Province. ###
