| Message of greetings to the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party Of Belgium
From the Central Committee Communist Party of the Philippines 21 October 2007
On behalf of the entire Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), we extend our most militant and comradely greetings to the entire leadership and membership of the Workers' Party of Belgium (WPB) on the occasion of its 8th Party Congress that carries the theme: "Socialist future; Principled Party; Worker's Party; Flexible Party." We wish the WPB a successful congress and more victories in the future in its efforts to advance the worker's movement in Belgium.
We congratulate the WPB for its significant successes and are confident that it will achieve more victories in the future. This is because the objective conditions in the world today are favorable for enhancing its revolutionary integrity and for advancing the workers' movement. The WPB has shown itself capable of linking with the proletarian masses and other working people and leading them in their struggles.
The world capitalist system is in deep crisis. Under the regime of imperialist globalization and the global war of terror, the exploitation and oppression of the workers and peoples have intensified even more. But resistance by the workers and oppressed peoples has also intensified and has dealt the imperialists heavy blows. The defeat of US imperialism by the people's armed resistance in Iraq is a telling testimony of the ultimate impotence of even the most powerful imperialist power in the face of the resistance of a united people.
More and more the exploitative and moribund character of the capitalist system is being exposed to the workers and oppressed peoples of the world. The broad masses of the people clamor for change and for a better world. We Marxist-Leninists are confident that the cause of socialism shall prevail over imperialism and all reaction.
We commend the determination of the WPB to build a party capable of leading the proletariat and other working people in their revolutionary struggle to build a socialist society. In order to be such a party the WPB is entirely correct in striving to build itself as a truly proletarian party that is firm in principle but flexible in tactics.
We laud the WPB's resolve to reaffirm the basic ideological, political and organizational principles of Marxism-Leninism. Our own party has gone through a similar process of rectifying some major errors and reaffirming our party's basic principles. This rectification movement has made our party stronger and more effective in leading the workers and other toiling masses in our revolutionary struggle.
We note with utmost appreciation the great importance that the WPB places on its practice of proletarian internationalism. The WPB has sent its cadres to many countries to offer assistance to parties, progressive organizations and the people in their various struggles against the imperialists and reactionary regimes.
The Communist Party of the Philippines values highly the excellent comradely relations with the Workers' Party of Belgium in the spirit of proletarian internationalism. For many years now our two parties have engaged in mutually beneficial cooperation and have given each other mutual support in various struggles to advance the world proletarian revolution. We have learned valuable lessons from each other's experiences and struggles. We are determined to further strengthen and develop our comradely relations.
Long live Marxism-Leninism!
Long live the Workers' Party of Belgium!
Long live proletarian internationalism!
