Warmest greetings of solidarity!CENTRAL COMMITTEE Communist Party of the Philippines 20 November 2008
Dear Comrades and Friends,
Warmest greetings of solidarity!
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its re-establishment on 26 December 2008. In this regard, the CPP Central Committee wishes to request for your message of solidarity.
The Party and the revolutionary people of the Philippines celebrate its accumulated and current victories with boundless joy. Ever since its re-establishment under the theoretical guidance of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought (Maoism), the CPP has become tempered in the crucible of revolutionary struggle. It has accumulated brilliant victories in acting as the vanguard of the proletariat and in leading the Filipino people's struggle for national liberation and democracy against US imperialism and the local exploiting classes of the comprador big bourgeoisie and landlords.
The Party has won great victories because it is resolutely and militantly devoted to revolutionary service to the people and is therefore never daunted by tremendous odds, mistakes or shortcomings. It has gained strength through the years because the Party cadres and members and the revolutionary people of the Philippines have all worked hard and offered sacrifices in the revolutionary struggle. We pay the highest tribute to our martyrs and heroes for their supreme sacrifice and exemplary service to the people.
The current US puppet government in the Philippines, especially its fake president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her top military henchmen, keep on bragging that they can destroy or cause the strategic defeat of the CPP, the New People's Army and all other revolutionary forces before 2010. Instead, the revolutionary forces are growing in strength and advancing. The Party always implements the Marxist-Leninist ideological line, the general political line of new democratic revolution and the organizational line of democratic centralism. Thus, it can take advantage of the ever worsening crises of the world capitalist system and the domestic ruling system, and the US-Arroyo regime's detested policies of national betrayal, class exploitation, corruption and state terrorism.
On its 40th year of re-establishment, the CPP renews its resolve to carry forward until total nationwide victory the new democratic revolution through protracted people's war. It is determined to seize political power in order to immediately commence the stage of socialist revolution and begin the long transition to communism. For this anniversary year, all the revolutionary forces have been called upon to accelerate advances in an all-round way - in the ideological, political, military, economic, social and cultural fields - to bring the new democratic revolution ever closer to total victory.
Cadres and members have been called upon to continue to build the Party under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and to apply this in studying the international and local conditions, in summing up and analyzing revolutionary experience, in reviewing Party work, in conducting criticism and self-criticism and in setting forth the tasks of all Party organs and organizations. The level of theoretical and political education must be raised in the course of study and work meetings, as well as in formal Party courses.
The armed struggle and the united front must be developed further as weapons for building the power of the people, defeating the enemy and advancing the revolution. From its political work, the Party must be able to recruit ever larger numbers of candidate members - in their hundreds of thousands - from the ranks of the activist workers, peasants and urban petty-bourgeoisie. Through the organs of political power and mass organizations, the Party must lead all aspects of social life and transform backward villages into political, economic, military and cultural bastions of the revolution.
The Party must carry out effective international work in support of the Filipino people in their struggle for national liberation and democracy. Cadres and members are called upon to improve work among Filipino migrant workers, immigrants and subsequent generations of Filipinos abroad. Interest and support must be developed among Filipinos abroad regarding the intensification of our people's struggles against the escalating exploitation and repression by the imperialists and Filipino reactionaries.
The Party continues to be active in promoting the international united front against imperialism and foreign intervention, and in actively supporting campaigns and movements worldwide which are fighting for greater freedom, democracy, social justice and world peace. It continues to develop proto-diplomatic and diplomatic relations in order to prepare for the total victory of the people's democratic revolution and the eventual establishment of the People's Democratic Republic of the Philippines.
The CPP is gratified by the expressions of political and moral support it has been receiving through the past 40 years. We hope that you can join us again this year in celebrating the glorious victories of the Party and the revolutionary people of the Philippines in our continuing struggle for national and social liberation.
Onward to total victory of the people's democratic revolution in the Philippines!
Long live the Communist Party of the Philippines!
Long live the proletariat and people of the Philippines!
Long live proletarian internationalism and the anti-imperialist solidarity of peoples!
In solidarity,
For the Central Committee Communist Party of the Philippines International Department
