I was in solitary confinement in 1984

By Professor JOSE MARIA SISON

6 September 2006

By fabricating stories like the one about the so-called Leyte mass grave, the Arroyo regime and its military and police minions demonstrate their extreme desperation at trying to draw attention away from their culpability for the extrajudicial killing of 745 unarmed people, the abduction of more than 180 others and other gross human rights violations since 2001.

How could I have signed any order for the execution of any number of suspected spies of the reactionary government in 1984 under the nom de guerre Amado Guerrero? I was not only under maximum security detention by the military but I was in solidarity confinement under severe conditions of physical deprivation and psychological torture. Upon my capture by the enemy in November 1977, I ceased to be the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines.

It was also impossible for Luis Jalandoni and Satur Ocampo to co-sign any kind of order with me. In the first place, there was no such order. In the second place, they did not have any authority over the revolutionary movement in Leyte. Luis Jalandoni had been abroad as a political refugee since 1976. Satur Ocampo was in the Bicutan maximum security detention center of the military.
The highest cabinet officials like executive secretary General Eduardo Ermita and national security adviser Norberto Gonzales and military officials of the Arroyo regime like AFP chief of staff General Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. are exposing their collective mendacity and stupidity by presenting a false witness like Zacarias Piedad, who is obviously a parrot of the military propagandists.

The fake president Gloria M. Arroyo will find herself in deeper trouble by depending on the aforesaid officials in carrying out Oplan Bantay Laya, including the extrajudicial killings and the psywar campaign of intrigue against the revolutionary forces and against the victims of human rights violations.

The office of the Negotiating Panel of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines has received information that the psywar experts of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) produce from time to time a collection of skeletal remains for the purpose of slander against the New Peoples Army by taking them from old abandoned cemeteries, graves of massacre victims of the AFP and PNP and mudslides of some years ago as in Leyte.

The AFP and PNP have also carried skeletal remains from place to place in order to make propaganda against the revolutionary movement and to threaten the filing of charges. But no charges are ever filed. The psywar rascals want merely to exploit the mass media. No charges have ever arisen from the fake findings of mass graves in Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, Quezon and other places. The ghouls of the AFP and PNP should stop desecrating the skeletal remains. ###
