September 22-24, 2003. Experiences in advancing the struggles of the peasant masses in Isabela were assessed. One of the matters summed up by the conference was a peasant campaign conducted in two towns in Isabela in May that led to the reduction of interest rates by 40- 50% and the eradication of many forms of merchant fraud. More than 101,000 peasants from over 100 barrios benefited from these victories…

October, 2003. The people's vigorous participation in antifeudal struggles and other political campaigns and mobilizations have scored victories in reducing land rent and decreasing the resikada imposed by copra buyers. There are struggles against landgrabbing and the setting up of landfills, the assertion by peasants of their right to put up houses in the lands they occupy and the recovery by national minorities of their ancestral lands that have been converted to logging concessions.

June, 2003. The antifeudal struggle yielded mass activists and revolutionary masses tempered in the class struggle. The antifeudal base in the area now serves as a bulwark of legal and open mass actions on a broader broader scope, including the town centers.

June, 2003. Peasant masses are now reaping the benefits of the step-by-step implementation of genuine land reform in guerrilla zones and bases. For example, land rent has been further reduced to a mere 10% in rice lands, peasants are slowly retrieving their lands mortgaged due to usury, interest on cash loans were reduced from 20% to 10% monthly, wages for eight hours' toil of farm workers have been raised from P50 to P200.

May 16 to 20, 2003. In Echague, Isabela, interest for palay bought on credit has been reduced from 35% to 25% per harvest. This was achieved after peasants dialogued with merchants in the town centers.

May 6, 2003. In twenty-one barrios in the towns of Baggao and Gattaran, the price of corn was raised from P6.00 to P6.60 per kilo while lending rates were reduced from 5-10% to 3% per month.
