Arroyo regime crumbling faster than ever--CPP
CPP Information Bureau, July 8, 2005
"The center can no longer hold. The Arroyo regime is crumbling from within, and it is falling faster than ever." Thus said CPP spokesperson Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal in reaction to the mass resignation initiated by 10 members of Gloria Arroyo's cabinet today.
Rosal said that Arroyo's move last night to preempt the mass resignation has backfired. "Her own cabinet members could no longer stand her constant lying to cover up the Gloriagate scandal and her other crimes against the people and had demanded her resignation. But it is their resignation that she has demanded instead."
Rosal said Arroyo's failed preemptive measure only shows how diehard, recalcitrant, criminal and power-hungry she is. He said that the decision of a number of her cabinet members to publicly demand her resignation has all the more exposed the total delusion and bankruptcy of Arroyo's resort to phrasemongering to cover up her crimes and has further isolated her from the people.
While Rosal said that "the mass cabinet resignation is a good thing," he also warned the people of the dangers coming from those who remain loyal to Arroyo. "The sycophants, fascists and militarists left in the Arroyo government may in desperation resort to repressive actions to quell the people's widespread and escalating demand for an end to the Arroyo regime."
Rosal said that constant warnings issued by the AFP, PNP, and Arroyo's national security adviser and justice secretary that mass actions have been "infiltrated" and may turn violent in the coming days are actually veiled threats from Arroyo's armed minions to the people to desist from joining mass actions. It is likely, said Rosal, that in the Arroyo regime's deperation, it would order the military and police to sow violence during mass protests and blame this on the revolutionary forces.
Rosal said that the CPP and the revolutionary forces are giving free rein to the Filipino people's democratic movement to oust Arroyo and will hold her personally responsible for any harm that may befall the people during mass actions.
