Widespread people's protest actions and NPA's intensified tactical offensives is Mindanao people's answer to Martial Law -- Ka Oris

The New People's Army have intensified tactical offensives in the provinces of Mindanao in support to the intensifying people's movement to oust the US-Arroyo regime.

In just five days since September 20 to 25, the New People's Army in Mindanao launched a total of 11 simultaneous and successive tactical offensives.

Ka Oris, NDF Minadanao spokesperson, said in a statement that of these 11 tactical offensives, 'seven were harassment military actions, three aims to seize firearms and one aims to criple the communication tower of the 4th ID.'

He also said that these 'tactical offensives in Mindanao are the angry people's answer to US-Arroyo regime's plan to formally declare military rule' and its continued illegitmate hold on power. '

Seven harassments were successfully carried out against the 58TH IB-CAFGU detachment in Panawsawon, Cagwait, the Police Station in San Miguel, the Company Headquarters of 58th IB in SNAS, San Miguel, all in Surigao del Sur; against the Company Headquarters of 30th IB in Mahaba, Cabadbaran and the Special Operations Team(SOT) Platoon of the 36th IB in Masabong, Bunawan in Agusan del Sur; and against the PA-CAFGU detachment in brgy Cabongbongan, Surigao City.

Three tactical offensives were made against the security personnel of the OADI Farms in San Jose, Quezon, Bukidnon, the Kababayan Center in San Miguel and the PA-CAFGU detachment in San Pedro, Lianga, Surigao del Sur.

A military action was launched to cripple a key intelligence and communication towers of the 4th ID in Ginalaban, Salay, Misamis Oriental.

'NDF Mindanao sympathizes with the retired generals, young officers and rank-and-file soldiers of the AFP-PNP-CAFGU in their demand for reform within their organization and the overthrow of the fake President and Commander-in-Chief,' Ka Oris said.

He further urged them to join the struggle of the Filipino people in their effort to oust GMA and in achieving national freedom and democracy. ###
