Ka Parago: still up to lead attacks against the fascist army of the Arroyo regime

Ka Parago, one of the leading military cadres of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) in Southern Mindanao is still strong and able to lead attacks against the fascist army of the rotten regime of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) claims", that Ka Parago: "got sick in the course of escaping the hinterlands," "ready to surrender to the military" and "still tries to project that he is strong in order to encourage other rebels for the communist organization to remain strong" are totally preposterous. Ka Parago is active as before in fulfilling urgent tasks, which include the intensification of NPA tactical offensives.

The Public Information Bureau (PIB) of the Merardo Arce Command (MAC) also proves that the AFP's allegations against Ka Parago are baseless. The PIB recently released an interview-cum-documentary video, with Ka Parago presenting the NPAs views on the raging crisis of the Arroyo regime.

The AFP's speculations against Ka Parago and the entire revolutionary movement are mere manifestations of its desperation resulting from its own failures. It is increasingly confronted with the reality that it cannot defeat the "people's army" even with their high-powered arsenal, hugely funded intelligence work and sustained operations.

The military's top brass are victims of their own braggadocio, as they have not met the three-month deadline of seizing Ka Parago, which lapsed last September. Maj. Jose Ma. Cuerpo, 5th Civil Relations Group Chief and Lt. Col. Rolando Bautista, 73rd Infantry Battalion Commander were forced to admit that they failed in such undertaking.

Yet, the AFP continues to make Ka Parago its top priority. It has in fact re-deployed the 401st Brigade from Cagayan de Oro City to Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte. Thus, intensified psychological warfare and combat operations by the 73rd IB, 60th IB, Scout Rangers Company, Re-Engineered Special Operations Team (RSOT) and the Task Force Davao (TFD) continue in Davao City, Davao del Norte and Bukidnon.

The revolutionary movement is able to frustrate the AFP's objectives because it has the active support of a deep mass base of lumads and poor peasants. The Arroyo regime and its army may have all the resources at hand but it will be stuck in failure and frustration and thereby resort to even more fascist actions as shown in its "get Ka Parago" fiasco. It cannot succeed chiefly because it is waging an unjust counter-revolutionary war against the masses who support a just People's Democratic Revolution. #
