CPP dismisses Malacanang claims NPA behind bombings December 8, 2005
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today dismissed claims made by Malacanang officials yesterday that the New People's Army (NPA) is behind the bombings yesterday around Metro Manila.
Before dawn yesterday, the Arroyo-owned LTA building in Makati was strafed by unidentified men. This was followed by bombings in Paranaque, Antipolo and Caloocan.
A group of AFP soldiers calling itself "Enlightened Warriors" claimed responsibility for yesterday's attacks.
CPP spokesperson Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal said he was informed that no NPA unit carried out any such attacks in Metro Manila.
He added that Malacanang is blaming the NPA apparently to cover-up the increasingly open rebellion within the AFP. Rosal urged "patriotic-minded officers and rank-and-file soliders to withdraw support from the illegitimate, corrupt, deceitful, brutal and overwhelmingly hated Arroyo regime.
"Malacanang now trembles in the face of its growing insecurity with its own armed forces," Rosal said.
Rosal said the NPA will continue to carry out tactical offensives in the countryside.
"The CPP reiterates its call on the NPA to launch tactical offensives against the Armed Forces of the Philippines, in order to punish the worst fascist criminals, further advance the people's war and help bring down the Arroyo regime," Rosal said.
