CPP salutes Capt. Faeldon December 28, 2005
The Communist Party of the Philippines salutes Marine Captain Nicanor Faeldon for freeing himself in order to more effectively help in the fight to bring down the Arroyo regime, and bring about "a more credible transition government" to pave the way for immediately needed basic changes for the better of our society.
CPP spokesperson Gregorio "Ka Roger" Rosal said that Faeldon's deed serves to rouse and conscienticize more officers and enlisted men of the government's armed forces and police against continuing to be used as tools to prop up a lying, illegitimate, corrupt and oppressive puppet regime and suppress the people's struggle for genuine freedom, democracy and progress.
Rosal said "Faeldon's decisive and courageous move to assert his own freedom, burn the bridges of uncertainty behind him, assume the sacrifices of going underground, and work for the greater freedom, justice and democracy in the country is a confirmation of the correctness of the CPP's call for the establishment and broadening of alliances to bring down the Arroyo regime, including alliance with patriotic and democratic-leaning officers and men of the government's armed forces and police."
The CPP spokesperson said that there are many, many more like Faeldon who cannot accept being used further as instruments of an illegitimate, rotten and repressive regime and who now want to fight on the side of the people and the revolutionary forces. "Their tribe is fast increasing. They are widely organized and will soon take the fight to the open in alliance with progressive and revolutionary forces," added Rosal.
Rosal said that as soon as broad alliances, including the anti-Arroyo forces among the military and police, are established, there will be much greater unity, force and swiftness in the fight to bring to an end the Arroyo regime and set up a transition government that will strive for genuine peace, national unity, freedom, democracy and progress.
