46th IB arrests peasant in Samar
Soldiers of the 46th Infantry Battalion arrested and forced farmer Roben Colocado to go with them in military operations on the second week of April. Colocado is more than 50 years old and a resident of Barangay Daligan, Calbiga, Samar.
According to the New People’s Army-Western Samar (Arnulfo Ortiz Command), Colocado was arrested by operating soldiers in his farm forcing him to serve as guide. He was released by the military as the operating unit returned to their camp. The violation of Colocado’s rights caused fear to his family.
Edwin “Jack” Nablo, identified as one of the perpetrators of Colocado’s arrest, is a notorious asset of the 46th IB responsible for the murder of peasants in the area. Nablo is despised by the masses for pretending to be a Red fighter to deceive them and cover-up his criminal activities. Together with butcher soldiers of the 46th IB, they wear bonnets and dress as civilians during their military operations.
