Call for submissions: ULOS 2024

Calling all writers, poets, film makers and artists!

We are pleased to announce that Ulos 2024 is now open for submissions. The 2024 edition plans to showcase literary works and artworks depicting the struggles and resistance of the Filipino people against intense exploitation and oppression under the Marcos regime, and we invite you to be part of this endeavor.

Submission Guidelines:

• Literary works: poetry, short stories, essays, and other forms of creative writing
• Artwork: illustrations, photographs, paintings, and other visual art forms
• Multimedia: songs, scripts, films and videos, podcast, radio program
• Themes: Filipino struggles and resistance, social justice, Philippine revolution, national democracy, armed struggle; rectification campaign and study movement; and personal narratives of taking part in the armed and underground struggle.

Submission Deadline:

• September 31, 2024

• Create a temporary email, Facebook or Element account for your use
• Email your work to [email protected]; or send it to us at https://www.facebook.com/ulos2024.
• Include your alias and a brief description of your submission

What to Expect:

• A curated selection of works will be published by the end of the year.

Ulos is a literary folio published by the Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan (Artists and Writers of the People), which is affiliated with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP). It serves as a platform for revolutionary artists and writers, promoting the ideals of the national democratic movement in the Philippines.
