TKP/ML: The founding leader of the Communist Party of the Philippines Jose Maria Sison (Ka Joma) is immortal!

Jose Maria Sison, the founding leader of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), died on December 16, 2022 at the age of 83. We share the grief of our FKP friends and the people of the Philippines and embrace their struggle.

The working class and laborers of the Philippines have been waging a revolutionary armed struggle for more than half a century under the leadership of the FKP. Unquestionably, Jose Maria Sison has been one of the most important leaders of this armed struggle of more than half a century, of the FKP’s struggle for People’s Democratic Revolution and Socialism. After many years in captivity, Sison, who went to the Netherlands for an international conference in 1987, was forced into exile by the Philippine State which canceled his passport and declared him “persona non grata”. He was also classified as a “person supporting terrorism” by the United States in August 2002. In 2007, Sison was arrested in Europe and released after intense protests and various initiatives. During the long years he was in exile, he continued to fulfill his duties and responsibilities.

No matter where in the world, Those who struggle against imperialism, fascism, feudalism and all forms of reaction deserve to be respected and honored. Jose Maria Sison, one of today’s revolutionary leaders, has dedicated his life to the development of the FKP and the struggle of the Filipino people. For this reason, he has carved a place for himself in the historical memory of the class struggle as one of the revolutionary leaders who deserves to be honored and respected by the international proletariat and the oppressed peoples of the world.

The unbearable consequences of the deepening contradictions of the imperialist-capitalist system, which continues its existence by rotting and leaking pus and blood from every pore, for the proletariat and the oppressed working peoples have also made the search for alternatives a current problem. While deepening poverty and spreading imperialist aggression bring the masses of the people to move away from solutions that are compatible with the given system, for revolutionaries and communists it creates the objective ground for developing the revolutionary struggle.

We are witnessing the spontaneous resistance and struggle of the peoples in many geographies of the world. In today’s conditions, in which the contradictions of … olmalıimperialist-capitalism continue to deepen, the search of the masses of the people for an exit from living conditions of poverty and oppression increases and these searches turn into social resistances, the real alternative to the given order of exploitation and plunder is in the hands of the communists. No means and methods that intersect and compromise with the system are capable of creating the world of the future. Every step that moves away from the absurdity of creating a favorable ground for the masses of the people by reforming the system must be supported and developed.

The revolutionary guerrilla war led by the FKP is important in this respect. The only path that will lead the working class and oppressed people of the Philippines to liberation will be the development of the revolutionary struggle and the seizure of power with the perspective of People’s Democratic Revolution and Socialism.

We honor Jose Maria Sison, founding leader of the FKP and one of the most important revolutionaries of our time.
