NPA-Masbate launches 4 consecutive tactical offensives
NPA-Masbate (Jose Rapsing Command) units launched four consecutive tactical offensives weeks before they marked the 56th anniversary of the New People’s Army (NPA) on March 29 in the province. The Red Army carried out combined harassment, demolition, and punitive operations to strike at the forces of the military, police, and CAFGU.
On March 24, at 9 PM, Red fighters bombed the CAFGU detachment in Barangay Manlut-od, Placer. Residents reported that two fascist soldiers were killed while two others were wounded. To underplay its defeat, the unit reported that only two soldiers were wounded.
The Red Army launched harassment operations against one of the military headquarters in Barangay Estampar, Cataingan on March 22. Red fighters also fired at troops of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) stationed in Barangay San Vicente, Dimasalang on March 15.
Meanwhile, on March 17, NPA-Masbate meted punishment against an ongoing construction project in Barangay Santa Cruz, Placer. The unit paralyzed a mixer truck for the project’s violations of revolutionary movement guidelines in Masbate.
“The Jose Rapsing Command (NPA-Masbate) expresses deep gratitude to the Masbatenyo masses for their significant contributions to the success of the implemented actions,” NPA-Masbate spokesperson Ka Luz del Mar said. Likewise, the spokesperson commended the Red fighters who played crucial roles in executing tactical offensive plans against mercenary military forces, police, and CAFGU.
Ka Luz emphasized that these military actions aim to deliver justice against the state forces’ intensifying fascist aggression on the Masbatenyo masses. She noted that since the start of the first quarter of 2025, military operations across the province have been relentless and continuous.
She also reported that many barangays–the communities previously placed under the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP)–are now being subjected to the Modified Community Support Sustainment Program (MCSSP). Soldiers continue to commit heaps of human rights violations in areas devastated by their counterinsurgency operations.
