NPA-North Quezon unit thwarts another AFP attack

The New People’s Army (NPA)-North Quezon thwarted another attack by Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) soldiers on April 23 at 6:35 a.m. in Barangay Tagumpay, Real, Quezon. The Red fighters reportedly maneuvered safely and orderly without casualties, while one casualty was recorded among the fascist soldiers.

This was after the active defense by NPA-North Quezon against the 80th IB on April 16 in Barangay Tanauan in the same municipality. The 80th IB unit that encountered the people’s army serves as a protector of the destructive large-scale Real Wind Energy Project (RWEP) by ACEN Corporation of Ayala Corporation.

Meanwhile, the unit refuted the AFP’s widely circulated claim of an encounter in Barangay Llavac on April 22. “The people’s army categorically denies this claim–no clash occurred between the NPA and the military. Instead, the mercenary AFP wasted bullets in their fake encounters due to their desperation to pursue the NPA,” NPA-North Quezon spokesperson Eliza ‘Ka Eli’ dela Guerra said.

The spokesperson also condemned the AFP and the US-Marcos regime for squandering public funds on combat operations that sow terror among citizens while many suffer hunger and poverty. She stated that the 80th IB has for two weeks been conducting focused military operations in adjacent barangays in Real since April 11.

Ka Eli emphasized that the AFP is obsessed with driving out the people’s army from Real to defend the projects of their masters–the big comprador bourgeoisie and bureaucrat-capitalists. Among these is the massive RWEP, which will displace thousands of residents and farmers in Real.

NPA-North Quezon calls on the people of Real and all of Quezon to continue supporting their true army–the NPA. “Your army persists and continues to succeed precisely because of your unwavering support. Let us collectively fight and advance the agrarian revolution and national-democratic revolution toward complete victory,” said Ka Eli.
