The New People’s Army (NPA)-Central Negros (Leonardo Panaligan Command) punished Nonie Cadorna, a notorious intelligence asset of the 62nd IB, last October 17, 2022 around 5:40 pm, in Sitio Binakayan, Barangay Tabon, Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental. The punishment was enfored based on the decision of the people’s revolutionary court.

The NPA spoke with Cardona three times and gave warning in 2020 in connection with violations of the rules of the revolutionary movement. The NPA unit spoke to him once more in 2021 having refused to men his ways and choosing instead to be more active as an intelligence agent and perpetuating his anti-social activities such as violation of women’s dignity and rights.

Cadorna serves as a village council member, apart from being an intelligence asset of the 62nd IB in his village. He led the suppression campaign against village residents and their forced surrender and compelling them to admit being “supporters and mass base” of the NPA. He is also responsible for PNP activities and the 62nd IB’s Mobile Community Support and Sustainment Team (MCSST) in Barangay Tabon. He was involved in illegal arrests, planting of weapons as evidence and other trumped-up charges against Ramonito Mahinay, a resident of the same village.
