Anti-Imperialist Action Ireland Statement of Condolences on the Death of Benito and Wilma Tiamzon

,

Anti-Imperialist Action Ireland sends its heartfelt condolences to the Communist Party of the Philippines and the entire revolutionary national democratic movement over the murder of its exemplary comrades Benito “Ka Laan” Tiamzon and Wilma “Ka Bagong-tao” Austria-Tiamzon. We express our horror at the heartless and cowardly manner of their murders. We sincerely convey our sympathies to their close comrades and their families. News of their fate shows for the world to see the true bloodthirsty, frothing face of the imperialist system which Ka Laan and Ka Bagong-tao bravely chose to devote their lives to fighting.

Fulfilling crucial leadership roles within the Communist Party of the Philippines up until their deaths, Ka Laan and Ka Bagong-tao saved the party and the wider national democratic movement from destruction. Their talents shone especially in the crisis of the Second Great Rectification Movement, where it was their leadership and guidance which steered the party out of a crisis provoked by armed gangs of revisionists and traitors from the inside during the end of the Cold War. In a decade where many revolutionary movements collapsed, were crushed, or were hijacked by traitors such as here in Ireland, it was the work of these two cadres which arguably saved the Filipino revolution.

We salute Ka Benito Tiamzon and Ka Wilma Austra-Tiamzon as the leaders of a revolution against imperialism which seeks to free the Philippines from unjust exploitation. They stood firmly against a fascist army backed by troops from the USA and Crown Forces from Britain and Australia.

In solidarity,
Le meas,
Anti-Imperialist Action Ireland
Cairde na Filipínigh Committee.
