The New People’s Army is under the supreme guidance of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought and the Communist Party of Philippines. It is the revolutionary army of the broad masses of the Filipino people against US imperialism, the comprador big bourgeoisie, the landlord class and the bureaucrat capitalists.

Ang Bagong Hukbong Bayan ay nasa ilalim ng kataastaasang pamamatnugot ng Marxismo-Leninismo-Kaisipang Mao Tsetung at Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas. Ito ang rebolusyonaryong hukbo ng malawak na masa ng sambayanang Pilipino laban sa imperyalismong Amerikano, malalaking burgesiang komprador, uring panginoong maylupa at mga burukratang kapitalista.
