Two soldiers of the 31st IBPA who were buying supplies at the local market of said barangay were ambushed by Red partisans around 7:20 in the morning. PFC Mark June Esico and PFC John Dave Adcolin who were both part of the security detail of the infrastructure project of Centerways Construction in Barangay Sulong of the said town were killed-in-action.
