The New People’s Army (NPA)-South Central Negros (Romeo Nanta Command) launched a harassment operation against 94th IB troopers in Sitio Cantupa, Barangay Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on the night of October 27. At least two fascist soldiers were wounded.

The soldiers scampered and managed to fire back only after a few seconds. The 94th IB indiscriminately fired in the area using their machine gun and M203 rounds.

Meanwhile, some 15th IB intelligence agents reportedly surrendered to the NPA-Southwest Negros (Armando Sumayang Jr Command) in the town of Cauayan in October. The unit accepted their surrender on the basis that the assets had not harmed or committed blood debts against the revolutionary movement and the people.
