Various mass organizations gathered at the University of the Philippines (UP)-Los Baños yesterday, May 30, to support the struggle of the Palestinian people against the genocidal campaign of Zionist Israel supported by the imperialist US.

Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan)-Southern Tagalog led the groups’ protest action inside UP Los Baños yesterday. This was followed by a night of solidarity where various sectors and groups gave cultural performances.

They demanded that Israel cease its bombing and attacks on Gaza that have killed at least 36,000 (including 15,000 children), injured nearly 82,000 and displaced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians since October 7, 2023.

The latest in Israel’s criminal attacks is its bombing of the supposed “safe area” of al-Mawasi near the southern city of Rafah. It was attacked twice by Israeli military forces, on May 26 and May 28. At least 45 were killed in these attacks, including 23 women, children and the elderly.

Meanwhile, Israel also consecutively attacked several communities in northern Gaza yesterday, May 30. Reports said nine people died in an attack on a house in Beit Hanoon.

Israeli attacks on Palestinian communities inside the West Bank have also intensified in recent days.
