Revolutionary youths at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the Philippines-Visayas (Miag-ao), and UP Los Baños (UPLB) began commemorating the 55th anniversary of the New People’s Army.

Members of Kabataang Makabayan (KM)-Kira Mindoro yesterday, March 24, painted slogans on walls inside campus and in nearby establishments calling to celebrate the NPA anniversary, for the continuation of the people’s war and national-democratic struggle . There is also a call for paying tribute to revolutionary martyrs, like Ka Kira.

The slogan Free Palestine was also seen on the billboard of the McDonalds company, one of the companies supporting the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza.

In UP-Visayas, on March 23, a streamer expressing support for the NPA was seen. “Sabat sa Kaimulon, Inaway Banwa! Mabuhay ang Bag-ong Hangaway sang Banwa @55 VIVA CPP-NPA-NDF,” it said. The banner of a Kabataang Makabayan chapter was hung in the university.

Also last week, KM-Balangay Rizalina Ilagan posted stickers on the UPLB campus. The chapter also distributed copies of Kalayaan-Timog Katagalugan, its newspaper in the region. It contained a call to the youth to participate in the people’s war and join the NPA.

The anniversary of the NPA will be commemorated on March 29.
