As stories of unrelenting suffering and oppression brought about by the evil works of feudalism, bureaucratic capitalism and imperialism reign over peoples and nations, the ever-persistent struggle for liberation goes on.

We are moved by God’s enabling and emancipating Spirit, and by the ever persistence of the open and underground mass movements in their firm tenacity to trample and smash the semi-feudal and semi-colonial rule of the bureaucrat capitalists and big bourgeoisie compradors in the Philippine government that is dominated by the ruling elite with Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on the throne under the tutelage of his imperialist masters, US and China. Guided by the Maoist, Leninist and Marxist principles, ruled by the proletariat, and reinforced by the New People’s Army, CNL members shall continue support the armed revolution and prepare ourselves to join the people’s army.

CNL believes that the God of Moses, Jacob and Aaron is the same God journeying with the Filipino people in their persistent quest to remove the heavy yoke of oppression among the hapless people envisioning a society that is free. God is the same God who, as Mary’s Magnificat (Luke 1:51-53) in part says:

“He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.”

The bourgeois, elite and fascist characters of Marcos II and his allies are unveiling. Majority people submerge into the quagmire of poverty, injustice thrives with human rights violations and extra-judicial killings unabated. What else do people expect with governments that originated in class struggle to preserve their oppressive existence and rule? Yet, government would not wither away. Its oppressive purpose does. Such a government shall no longer be ruled by the minority elite, but by the majority that adheres to proletarian dictatorship, until the dawn of “new heaven and earth”, in socialism to communism.

As CNL celebrates 51st Founding Anniversary, it renews commitment at this juncture of our history to continue consolidation and expansion among faith communities, especially now that we are able to creatively find means and ways to do so after the terrible and militaristic approaches of then Duterte government, and now that Marcos II beastly character is unmasking.

The struggle for victory marches on to unity to overthrow the US-Marcos II tyranny by advancing the National Democratic Revolution with socialist perspective. We shall cherish forever the beautiful memories of countless Christian martyrs ahead of us. Them who interpreted theology and Christian dogmas in ways beneficial to the toiling and yet struggling masses of people. We shall also cherish the beautiful memories of works left behind by Jose Maria ““Ka Joma” Sison. Yes, though he died, but his productive works as one of the greatest Marxist-Leninist-Maoist thinkers of the century. Particularly, we shall remember and constantly praise him for his wisdom at accenting that, “even as Christians and Marxists differ in belief and thought, they can complement one another and cooperate in the building of human societies where truth, justice, peace, love, equality, and liberation would exist for the economic, political, cultural and comprehensive development of the toiling masses of peasants, workers, and national minorities (Write up on “Ideology and Religion in the Philippines”). We exclaim Ka Joma and the rest revolutionary brothers and sisters and martyrs of faith who were able to fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith (2 Timothy 4:7), so to speak. CNL shall then fight the good fight, finish the race and keep the faith today and until the vision for socialism to communism is realized.
