US and AFP military exercises irk North Cotabato residents

, ,

Residents of neighboring barangays in Alamada, North Cotabato complained about the noise and disruption caused by the military training of the Armed Forces of the Philippines from November 11 to 14.

Residents endured the continuous noise from the firing of various kinds of weapons from morning until afternoon during said days. They reported the presence of foreign troops who served as instructors in the training. The combat maneuvers even reached their farms and sitios, with soldiers virtually turning these areas into their training ground.

Residents said this is not the first time war games have been conducted in their area. A stray bullet from training soldiers wounded an 8-year-old child in one incident.
