CPP extends solidarity with PLDT workers

Information Bureau | Communist Party of the Philippines

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) extends solidarity and full support for the several thousand contractual workers of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Company in condemning the recent anti-worker maneuver of PLDT to terminate its service contracts with various agencies, including the SPI CRM Global, which renders almost 8,000 PLDT contractual workers unemployed. This shameless tactic is a clear attempt to evade the rising clamor of PLDT workers to be regularized. PLDT is among the biggest of Philippine companies practicing oppressive contractual employment schemes. The CPP congratulates all PLDT workers for uniting and raising their voices in protest, both in the streets, as well as in social media. Hold Manuel V. Pangilinan accountable for his systematic attacks against workers! Stand firmly for your rights. Unite with the rest of the Filipino workers in the struggle to end contractualization and higher wages amid worsening socio-economic crisis under the Duterte’s regime.
