Allied groups of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) held a ‘dulaang iglap’ in Metro Manila last April 28 to mark the 53rd anniversary of the NDFP. The short skit, held in a public market along Quirino Highway in Novaliches, Quezon City, was participated in by the Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan (Armas) and its chapters Ka Soral Malaya, Baby Jane Orbe, Tanya Domingo and Anghel Bedonia, the Katipunan ng mga Samahang Manggagawa (Kasama) and Liga ng Agham para sa Bayan (LAB). The groups performed the piece ‘Asintahin’ written by Armas.

The skit centered on the topics of US imperialism and its wars of aggression across the globe, including its war-mongering in the Asia-Pacific using the Philippines as its staging ground. It called on the Filipino people to join and take part in the people’s democratic revolution as the only solution against US imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat-capitalism.
