The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) expresses its indignation over the arrival yesterday of Gen. Charles Brown, the top military officer of the war-obsessed imperialist US. General Brown’s visit to the Philippines, and later to Japan, forms part of the US war provocations and preparations in the region, directed against its imperialist rival China.

As top US general, General Brown is clearly satisfied with how the US Typhon missile system and other weapons have been prepositioned in the Philippines, and how the country has served as base for the deployment of its warships in the South China Sea. All these fall into the US plan to continue fueling maritime tensions between the Philippines and China and preventing the peaceful resolution of conflicts. In exchange for US support, the Marcos regime and its armed forces are willingly serving as cogs to the US war machine.

Furthermore, the Filipino people are outraged that the Marcos regime hosted the top US general responsible for delivering bombs to Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people, and weapons for prolonging the war in Ukraine.
