Women : Bearers of Good News

As we celebrate the International Women’s Month, the Christians for National Liberation [CNL] joins the entire world to salute all women who struggled for system change of the way society treat women . It made entirely a difference in society, and “her story” recorded that.

Scriptures too affirmed that at Resurrection time, Jesus showed himself to a woman and told her go and tell the good news to his disciples that He is risen. The men who followed Him were hiding, for fear from the “powers that be”. Throughout the centuries, from the early church history up to now, the role of women cannot be denied.

Unfortunately, for us here in the country, we elected two women Presidents already but nothing happened to alleviate the plight of women . The first woman President could have etched herself by proclaiming to make land reform her administration’s “center piece” but massacred the protesting farmers in Mendiola, and unsheathed her Damocles sword through the Low Intensity Confliect [LIC] military strategy. While the next woman President was not different either, as she launched the series of Oplan Bantay Laya, while coddling the military, the likes of Gen. Jovito Palparan- the butcher.

CNL hail all women revolutionaries who offered their lives in serving the basic masses and marginalized sectors to achieve the centuries old dream of a transformed society. We call on Christians, Catholics, faith believers to form the youth especially young women to immerse them to the basic masses to mold their mindset to become revolutionaries and serve the people.
