2 unions clinch new CBA negotiations

Two unions successfully finalized their respective collective bargaining agreements (CBA) in July and August.

The Unyon ng mga Panadero sa Gardenia Bakeries Philippines Inc. (UPGBPI-OLALIA-KMU) announced its victory in negotiating a new CBA on July 18.

The union secured a ₱70 annual wage increase for the next three years, an additional ₱0.50 in seniority pay, a ₱20,000 signing bonus, a ₱7,500 lump sum, an ₱80 meal allowance with an extra ₱35 during overtime, and additional leave credits for workers who have served more than 15 years in the factory.

The union also pushed management to grant workers retroactive wage increases covering the months of October 2024 to June this year.

Meanwhile, the University Hotel Worker’s Union-KMU NCR announced on August 13 that it also signed a new CBA with the management of the hotel inside the University of the Philippines-Diliman in Quezon City.

The new CBA also granted additional benefits and allowances that will support workers’ daily needs.
