Filipinos nationwide continue to express their anger. Carrying handmade placards, vendors, farmers, fishers, workers, church people, students, youth, professionals, and other sectors of society are unfazed by rain, flood, or hot sunshine in their drive to condemn widespread corruption in the country.

Vendors in Brooke’s Point, Palawan held a prayer rally against corruption on September 29, spearheaded by the Brooke’s Point Tabuan Association. Residents, church people, and province Vice Mayor Mary Jean Feliciano joined the activity.

On September 30, students of Bulacan State University organized a protest dubbed “Kick back laban sa may kickback” (“Kick back against kickbackers”) at Hero’s Park to condemn anomalous flood projects in their province.

In the afternoon, Bulacan residents and progressive groups joined the action and marched together toward the Malolos City Hall and the office of Bulacan first district representative Danny Domingo who was involved in the anomalous projects in the province.

On the same day, Davao City’s Brokenshire College students, teachers, and staff also held a protest and candle lighting activity against corruption. Progressive groups in the province participated in the action.

On October 1, the Archdiocese of Caceres in Naga City led the “Trillion Peso March in Bikol: Aldaw nin Pambibi kay Ina” (“Day of love for Mother”). The activity was joined by Naga City local government staff, the private sector, church people, and young students and teachers from Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU), Naga College Foundation, and Bicol State College of Applied Science and Technology.

Hundreds of residents from the towns of Masantol and Macabebe in Pampanga marched on October 2, carrying coffins as symbols of lives lost from the anomalous flood control projects. They also held a program to express their disappointment and outrage over the state’s continuing corruption and negligence.
