Residents, council members, and employees of Barangay Payatas in Quezon City protested outside the barangay hall on February 3 to denounce their dismissal from work without legal basis.

In December 2025, the contracts of four council members and several barangay staff were not renewed, supposedly as part of a reorganization. They said their removal without due process is a blatant violation of the rights of public employees and volunteers serving in the barangay.

The protesters demanded transparency and accountability. They also called for an immediate explanation for their dismissal and for compliance with the proper process under the law.

Kabataan Partylist–Quezon City and Bayan Quezon City joined the protest action.
