Kabataang Makabayan (KM) and Katipunan ng Gurong Makabayan (Kaguma) launched their respective activities to condemn the recently concluded Balikatan Exercises 39-24.

In Australia, Kabataang Makabayan (KM)-Narmm members bravely staged a protest at the US consulate in Melbourne last week. KM-Narmm members carried out their activity at night while wearing face coverings to protect their identities.

The youth painted the words ‘US out of PH’ and ‘US troops out of PH now’ on the wall and glass of the US consulate. No security forces were able to stop the youth protest because of the sudden and rapid nature of their activity.

Meanwhile, members of Kaguma hung a large streamer on a footbridge in Malibay, Pasay yesterday, May 10. Written on it was the group’s call ‘Fight the imperialist war! Promote the people’s democratic revolution!’

The group stated “this is our Kaguma members’ call for the US to wage war on China through the biggest Balikatan in the history of the Philippines.” They added, Filipinos must stand up against the US imperialist dragging the country into its inter-imperialist war.

It said that it is important to review and analyze the proxy wars of the imperialist war in history. “All these are in its interest to remain the sole superpower,” the group explained.

They concluded, only by advancing the people’s democratic revolution can the Filipino people achieve social change, equality and true defense of the country’s sovereignty.
