NDF-Metro Manila celebrates CPP 56th anniversary with lightning rally

National Democratic Front (NDF)-Metro Manila allied organizations held a lightning rally on December 23, on Recto Avenue, Manila to celebrate the upcoming anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). The Party will mark its 56th year on December 26 amid the rectification movement it has launched.

Despite the threat of fascism and terrorism, members of the Kabataang Makabayan (KM)-Lucille Gypsy Zabala, Artista at Manunulat ng Sambayanan (Armas)-Balangay Marlon Caacbay, and other underground organizations based in the national capital bravely gathered. The CPP, New People’s Army (NPA), NDF, and its allied organizations are among those the reactionary state arbitrarily labeled as “terrorists.”

During the march, they called on Filipinos to advance the national democratic revolution amid worsening poverty and the ruling classes’ intensifying political persecution while raising the flags of the Party, the NPA, and the NDF. Their placards read the call to join the people’s army and take up arms to overthrow the rotten semicolonial and semifeudal Philippine society.

They condemned the US-Marcos regime and its subservience to the US imperialist, as well its the continuing oppression and human rights violations. They also joined the Filipino people in holding the Duterte family accountable for their crimes against the Filipino people.

The NDF-Metro Manila also honored the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the national and democratic cause.

Currently, the NDF-Metro Manila and its allied organizations are actively recruiting more members in the region. They are boldly but cautiously establishing chapters in universities, factories, streets, and other gathering places.
