A New People’s Army (NPA)-Mindoro (Lucio de Guzman Command) unit defended against the 203rd IBde forces’ attack in Sityo Barayong, Barangay Manuol, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro at noon on September 25. The battle reportedly killed three 203rd IBde soldiers and wounded many others.

“No amount of concealment can cover the 203rd Brigade’s casualties,” NPA-Mindoro spokesperson Ka Madaay Gasic said. He reported that the Mindoro peasant masses and indigenous people expressed their praises and celebration over the strike against the 203rd IBde.

“They are glad that the ruthless butchers whose massive militarization in the countryside only bring harm and suffering were sanctioned. They seek justice for the AFP’s victims of brutalities,” Ka Madaay said.

Ka Madaay further stated that the Mindoreños can rely on their army to persevere in defending the interests of the toiling masses and punish the mercenary Armed Forces of the Philippines. He declared that the support of the people and the inspiration of the growing mass movement and protests against corruption boosts the Red army’s morale and spirit.
