Revolutionaries in Laguna distributes leaflets

,

Members of the National Democratic Front (NDF)-Laguna, together with members of the Revolutionary Council of Trade Unions (RCTU)-Laguna, led the distribution of leaflets carrying their statements in the province’s city centers on April 29-30. Hundreds of leaflets were handed out to urge the people of the province to act and join the national democratic revolution.

RCTU-Laguna spokesperson Teodoro Miguel’s statement greeted the Filipino working class on marking International Workers’ Day on May 1. “Let us honor and remember the lives and sacrifices of our worker-martyrs who offered their intellect and their very lives for the welfare of the oppressed class and against the exploitative wage system,” the statement read.

RCTU-Laguna urged workers in Laguna to understand that the imperialist-dominated semicolonial and semifeudal system which is the core of extremely low wages and class exploitation, can be transformed only through the People’s Democratic Revolution. “We must unite and link our struggle for wages and labor rights with the anti-feudal struggle of the broad peasant masses and raise it to the level of the anti-imperialist struggle,” Miguel said.

Most importantly, he said, workers must embrace armed struggle as an essential weapon in liberating the Filipino people from imperialism, feudalism, and bureaucrat capitalism. “The thousands upon thousands of working masses participating in the armed struggle, enlisting in the New People’s Army, and taking leadership in it will surely propel the Philippine revolution forward in great leaps,” Miguel stated.

Meanwhile, the leaflets also featured the statement of NDF-Laguna spokesperson Malaya Asedillo. She greeted the 53rd NDFP anniversary marking on April 24. Asedillo called on the people of Laguna to oppose US imperialism’s war of aggression in the Asia-Pacific. She also urged the people to support the people’s war.

The boldness of the revolutionary groups in Laguna in distributing leaflets signals that the revolutionary movement in the province is very much alive and ready to take on more tasks to decisively grow stronger.
