Act of justice not terrorism
The punitive actions carried out by the various units of Apolinario Gatmaitan Command-New People’s Army (AGC-NPA) in Negros Island on nefarious military assets, out-and-out traitors and criminal elements do not constitute acts of terrorism as Armed Forces of the Philipines’s (AFP) online mouthpiece and PR hacks desperately want to paint.
It is an act of justice for the countless crimes they perpetrated against the people and their revolutionary movement in the name of US-designed counter-insurgency.
The said military actions by the NPA are just and fitting to the capital crimes committed by these anti-people and counter-revolutionary scoundrels. Each of them are duly tried in a fair and impartial judicial process in revolutionary people’s courts.
The allied revolutionary organizations of NDF-Negros lauded NPA’s punitive actions long demanded by the masses and victims of fascism and state terrorism.
NDF-Negros likewise slammed 3rd ID’s top honcho MajGen. Michael Samson for shamelessly peddling the rubbish line that the NPA are targeting civilians to effect terror on the population. In fact, the so-called civilians Samson referring to were actually part and parcel of their war machinery particularly their intelligence infrastructure.
Since Marcos Jr assumed the helm of the neocolonial state, cases of human rights violations perpetrated by AFP/PNP in Negros increased exponentially. About 1,250 cases of violations such as extra-judicial killings, abductions, bombardments, indiscriminate firing or strafing, threat and coercion among others were documented victimizing more than 96,000 Negrosanons.
The most recent case of military atrocity was the summary killing of farmer leader Warlita Jimenez in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental two months ago. Her husband, Joseph Jimenez, was also brutally executed by fascist military in 2022 along with NDF consultant Ericson Acosta.
Until now, these cases of military atrocities along with that of Oplan Sauron 1 & 2, Sagay 9 massacre, Fausto family slay and the Jacolbe family killings and many others remain unresolved and justice deprived of their surviving kins.
The AFP continues with impunity their longstanding practice of encamping in populated centers, public facilities and places of worship endangering the lives of civilians. Aside from these, fascist soldiers are well known purveyors of antisocial activities like the use of illegal drugs, drinking, gambling and pornography. There is a documented case of rape in one of AFP’s civilian community encampments in Negros including one that involved a minor.
In wanton disregard of international humanitarian law, AFP in Negros maintains a “take no prisoner” policy and in a killing spree mode in dealing with hors de combat and incapacitated revolutionaries like Noynoy “Ka Jojo” Ponteras and Marissa “Ka Kim” Pobresa, personnel of NDF-Negros,and the most recent, the cold blooded murder of CPP Negros leader Reynalde “Ka Amek” Erecre.
In lieu of these, NDF-Negros calls on human rights organizations and institutions including the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to conduct an impartial probe on the mounting cases of military atrocities and to help in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
We also call on all peace-loving Negrosanons to unite and struggle to hold accountable the fascist criminals and their paramilitary cohorts.
Finally, NDF-Negros reiterates its firm commitment and unyielding support to the revolutionary cause especially in the armed struggle. Only through people’s war that the interest and aspirations of the oppressed and exploited can truly be upheld and the struggle for justice be completed.
