'Insurgency-free' declaration for NIR, baseless and untrue—NDF-Negros
The National Democratic Front-Negros (NDF-Negros) slammed Lt Col. J-jay Javines and the AFP’s 3rd Infantry Division after declaring Negros Island Region as ‘insurgency free’ in a statement released Tuesday.
According to Ka Bayani Obrero, NDF-Negros spokesperson, the recent declaration is ‘both baseless and untrue that can no longer fool the media and the people, and especially the revolutionary forces who continue to rouse the masses to upheave against the culture of impunity and injustice that has worsened under the US-Marcos II regime’.
“This hogwash cannot even fool their own rank-and-file troops who continue to militarize peasant communities and commit atrocities while forcing civilians to be guides and fake surrenderees. The recent murder of a farmer in La Libertad, Negros Oriental after the the New People’s Army (NPA)’s punishment against the Limkaichongs and physical assault against several individuals in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental are incoherent with such declaration – not to mention the constant influx of several troops in hinterland barangays all over the island. The regularity of Javines’ spewed fake news is only as consistent as the human rights violations the 3rd ID has committed, ” Obrero added.
The rebel spokesperson underscored that ‘through the leadership of the Negros Island Regional Party Committee (NIRPC), the NPA and revolutionary mass organizations under the NDF continue to operate in both the cities and the countrysides, expanding and consolidating its ranks despite being besieged by unabated state terrorism’.
“While fascism remains to be the solution of the ruling class that feels afraid of the wrath of the exploited people, the latter will continue to tread the path of the national democratic revolution and take up arms to resist and demand justice,” said Obrero.
