In behalf of the Filipino working class and the revolutionary masses, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) expresses deepest sympathies to the Communist Party of Spain (Marxist-Leninist) over the demise of its founder and president Ka Raul Marco. We also wish to convey heartfelt condolences to the family and close associates of Ka Raul.

Through the international representatives of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), we have learned of Ka Raul’s leading role in founding the Communist Party of Spain (Marxist-Leninist) in 1960.

His fidelity to Marxism-Leninism pushed him and other proletarian revolutionaries to found the Communist Party of Spain (Marxist-Leninist) after an intense ideological and political struggle against revisionism. His commitment to the proletariat gave Ka Raul the strength to devote his life to the difficult task of building and strengthening the commuunist party.

We trust that Ka Raul’s devotion to the Spanish working class will inspire the Communist Party of Spain (Marxist-Leninist) to continue his work and serve and lead the Spanish working class.

There is great urgency in the need for the Spanish proletariat to lead the Spanish workers and toiling masses along the path of democratic and revolutionary struggles as Europe and the entire world reel from the crisis wrought by monopoly capitalist greed and exploitation of the working people.

Guided by Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, the Communist Party of the Philippines continues to lead the Filipino people in their revolutionary struggle to attain national and social liberation in order to carry out socialist revolution and construction. It leads the New People’s Army in waging people’s war across the country. The revolutionary struggle in the Philippines is part of the international resistance against imperialism.

The Communist Party of the Philippines looks forward to greater solidarity between the Filipino and Spanish working class and people.
